You have probably all heard our story by now but Dave & I met in High School. He was the captain of the football team and well I was a nerd. We had a couple of classes together. We got along chatted on our way to classes but nothing ever came of it didn't even know he was interested. He was young, cocky football player and well football players only dated cheerleaders in our day. Mutual friend did try to get me to join the team but a had no interest in being tossed in the air. 22 years later I was on a dating site called Hinge and Dave had just gotten divorced. I had deleted the ap but somehow my profile was still active Dave had sent me a Super Like but I didn't know. He then messaged me on Facebook messenger to let me know. We had been Facebook friends since I started my account, and I was under the impression he was still married. So when he messaged me I rolled my eyes (not that he could see me) and responded to him "Arent you married?" Once he let me know he was divorced I said ok then I will take you up on the date offer just thinking I would be some type of a rebound for him but what the hell it was 2020. I had said all along that I was that I was waiting for the 2nd round. Little did I know he would be my person the person I had been looking for.
Maria and I met sophomore year in high school. I was a popular athlete, and Maria was what I would describe as a "quiet, smart and hot!" As attractive as she was, she wasn't my type back then. I would see some pictures and posts on Facebook throughout the years as we were "Facebook friends". Fast forward to 2020. I got divorced, took time to myself before getting into any type of dating. A few of Maria's Facebook posts/pictures had caught my attention, but I was not "in the market" yet. I finally got on a few dating sites with no success (online dating was NOT my thing!). I told my friend Wes that I had a plan. I told him I was going to live the fun bachelor/player life and when I was ready for something serious, I was going to see if "This girl Maria" was involved with anyone. Wes laughed at what became known as "The Plan". One night I was cruising a dating app called Hinge, when I stumbled onto Maria's profile! I didn't know what to do, I hadn't even started "The Plan" yet. What the hell do I do? She is right there and apparently single! I drank a couple more delicious IPA's and went for it and used my only "super like" to send to Maria. I followed up that with a message to her about grabbing a drink or coffee. In what I have come to know as her feisty attitude she replied, "Aren't you married?" To which I replied, "not anymore". We went for coffee the day after Thanksgiving and never looked back! Needless to say, sending that superlike and the follow up message worked out way better than I ever expected!
